An Intimate, Personalized Senior Care Option

When most people think of long-term senior care, they think of the traditional nursing home, with round-the-clock supervision, in-house medical care, and a high degree of support. However, this option is not right for everyone! In the Phoenix metropolitan area alone, there a wealth of senior living facilities that offer varying degrees of clinical care, social support, amenities, and independence. Many seniors in Maricopa County find that they can no longer live at home alone, but still desire a high degree of autonomy and to live in a home-like environment. In this situation, an assisted living care home is the ideal solution!

What is an Assisted Living Care Home?

Assisted living care homes (also called senior group homes) share many similarities with traditional retirement communities, but with a much greater emphasis the comfort, familiarity, and social enrichment that comes from shared housing. Most assisted living care homes in the Phoenix metropolitan area have the following characteristics:

A Residential Home Setting:

As with other types of group homes, an assisted living care home is typically located in a private home in one of Maricopa County’s residential neighborhoods. The transition from living at home to moving into an assisted living facility can be overwhelming for many Phoenix area seniors; with an assisted living care home, residents often feel immediately at ease! Residents have comfortable private or semi-private rooms.

A Family Atmosphere:

Assisted living care homes in the greater Phoenix area traditionally serve no more than 10-12 seniors and have a higher ratio of staff-to-residents than other senior placement options. The result is a more intimate, family-like setting where residents and staff build strong relationships.

Convenient In-Home Services:

Assisted living care homes in and around Phoenix offer home-cooked meals, housekeeping and laundry services, medication management, social programming, and transportation services. As opposed to traditional nursing homes, assisted living care homes usually do not have full-time medical staff on-site.

Common questions

Questions families ask about group homes

What is a senior group home?
A group home, also called an assisted living care home, is usually a private house in one of Maricopa County's residential neighborhoods. It shares much with a retirement community but puts far more weight on comfort, familiarity, and the social warmth of shared housing. Residents have private or semi private rooms, and many feel at ease almost immediately after moving in.
How many seniors live in a Phoenix group home?
Traditionally no more than 10 to 12. That small size is the point. Assisted living care homes in the greater Phoenix area keep a higher ratio of staff to residents than other senior placement options, so residents and caregivers build strong relationships and the atmosphere feels like a family rather than an institution.
How much does a group home cost in Arizona?
Assisted living group homes can range from about $2,000 for a semi private room up to $10,000 a month, and they typically ask a deposit of $500 to $2,500. Where your loved one lands in that range depends on their level of care needs and your budget. We will tell you what a home really costs before you fall in love with it.
What services does a group home include?
Assisted living care homes in and around Phoenix offer home cooked meals, housekeeping and laundry services, medication management, social programming, and transportation. Unlike a traditional nursing home, they usually do not keep full time medical staff on site. That suits a senior who can no longer live alone safely but does not need clinical care around the clock.
Is a group home right for my loved one?
It can be a strong fit if your aging loved one is struggling to live independently but worries about giving up autonomy. Before you decide, talk with an experienced placement expert. Our staff will walk through every housing option with you, tour group homes at your side, and help you find the family atmosphere your loved one will settle into.

What families say

I worked with David Pionteck to help me find a perfect place for my brother who has parkinsons and is moving to Scottsdale from New Jersey. David is professional, knowledgeable and really fun to be around. He set all the appointments to look at facilities and group homes and always met me with a smile. He was great during this stressful time. We found a wonderful group home.

I was in search of a group home for my mother whom was living out of state. Needing to find placement sooner than later. Touched base with both Reina and Tom with Integrity Senior Placement and they made this transition seamless! From scheduling the tours and answering all the questions I had to even checking on my mother once she moved and reaching out to me as well. The compassion they showed was so nice. Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing assistance with their aging loved one!

David helped me find an assisted living group home on short notice for my uncle who was in a SNF for rehab. He made himself available to show some homes so quickly and was very kind to us. He explained the process to my uncle and everything worked out very well.

I can’t express enough how much help David was in placing my dear elderly friend in a long term living facility. He went above and beyond helping her feel comfortable transitioning out of her home and found her the most beautiful accommodations. He was so knowledgeable and compassionate. I highly recommend his services!

Guidance, every step

We are here to help.

As your loved one ages and requires special care, it can be hard to know who to turn to. Integrity Senior Placement is here to guide you every step of the way.

What people are saying

Integrity Placement exceeded our expectations. We called with an urgent need to relocate our 88 year old mother with advanced Parkinson's disease, dementia, rheumatoid arthritis, and a heart condition to a safe, capable and conducive environment. Having changed ownership and management, her then current facility had dramatically declined, replaced administration with unethical leadership, and become an elder-care warehouse. David listened to our list of needs, our experiences, and our hopes. Within a week Integrity Placement had researched potential fits, contacted AND prepared several to address our needs, guided us through on-site reviews, and helped us walk through the decision process. Every alternative we visited was exceptional and prepared to address our specific financial and medical needs. We found a match a could not be happier or more relieved.

David is amazing to work with. He made a huge difference in a very difficult time for our family. We were amazed at his efficiency in finding options for care homes and couldn't have found such a wonderful option without his guidance. But most of all, his kindness and warmth was everything to us. We will remain forever grateful.

Reina is truly our guardian angel. Fortunately, she was referred to me to help find a placement for my brother who was being discharged from a north Scottsdale facility at a moments notice. Having to deal with a facility and insurance who don't have your loved ones best interest at heart is maddening. I was panicked. Reina calmed my fears and was instrumental in finding a wonderful placement for Joe. She stayed connected with me during the entire process and continues to be a part of our lives. I appreciate her and the value of Integrity Placement and know this transition went as smoothly as it did because of Reina. Her dedication to her clients and families, her knowledge, honesty, patience, and professionalism are truly incredible. I can't thank Reina enough for how much she helped our family.
