Overview

In our words

According to its website, The Monaco is a newly built home in the Tucson Foothills neighborhood, the flagship of Via Elegante's 2026 expansion, with both assisted living and memory care. Via Elegante was founded in 2003 and runs four communities, two in Tucson (Foothills and Mountains) and two in Sierra Vista (Canyons and Highlands). Every room is private with its own bathroom, in Signature, Premier and Deluxe suites, and the Signature suites have private walk-in showers. Residents can use the in-home spa rooms, each room has Wi-Fi, and the company will furnish a room on request at no extra charge. Out back is a large covered patio that looks out on the mountains and the Tucson skyline. An Executive Chef cooks lunch and dinner every day, breakfast is made to order at any hour, special diets are accommodated, and meals can be served in the suite at no additional charge. The site also describes complete medication management and licensed nurses on hand, with state-certified caregivers who work 12.5-hour shifts. The home does not accommodate residents prone to violent or disruptive behavior. Small pets can live in private rooms for an added fee, and families get a weekly email update.

Visit in the afternoon and sit in the dining room for a while. Ask to see the actual room, not the model.
