About Handmaker
Handmaker is the name the company uses for an assisted living center at 2221 North Rosemont Boulevard in Tucson, Pima County, AZ 85712. The current license was issued in July 2026 and runs through December 2026, and AZ Care Check shows an original license date of October 2001.
The company describes Handmaker as a continuing care retirement community, and its history page dates the organization to 1963, when a 40-bed skilled nursing facility opened. Groundbreaking for the William and Sylvia L. Rubin Campus for Senior Living was in 2000.
On care, ADHS lists directed, personal and supervisory care services. The company says a licensed practical nurse is on site for each neighborhood, with nurses on campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Its website also describes a Tynan Neighborhood with a higher staffing ratio, and a separate Kalmanovitz Memory and Dementia Care Neighborhood for 20 residents.
The center is listed in the ALTCS networks of: UnitedHealthcare Community Plan (ALTCS) (list dated July 28, 2025) and Banner-University Family Care (ALTCS) (list dated 2026-07).
Visit in the afternoon and sit in the dining room for a while. Ask to see the actual room, not the model.

Care and services
ADHS defines directed care as care for residents who cannot direct their own care, for example because of cognitive impairment, and it is the highest of the ADHS assisted living care levels. Its site also mentions help with medication or gentle assistance with daily tasks. The company also describes the Kalmanovitz Memory and Dementia Care Neighborhood, which accommodates 20 residents; this may sit under the skilled nursing license rather than the assisted living license, so confirm how it is licensed.
Daily life
It adds that dietary technicians will work with residents to plan menus around dietary or nutritional needs. Weekly housekeeping and linen service is listed. The company says it schedules trips to nearby shopping and restaurants, and its site mentions discussion groups and live entertainment. Transportation to medical appointments, shopping and other off-campus activities is listed, and the company describes door-to-door medical transport in a climate-controlled van. Other listed amenities are a full-service beauty salon and patios and courtyards. The company says its cultural education staff coordinates spiritual and cultural programming, including worship and Sabbath services, for residents of all faiths, and that Catholic Mass is held on the first and third Tuesday of every month.

Our referral disclosure
Before we refer you to any assisted living home, we send you this notice to read and sign. Here it is now, so you can read it at your own pace.
Arizona law requires that we provide you with the following disclosure notice.
We are in the business of referring residents to assisted living facilities and assisted living homes. We will be paid by the assisted living facility or assisted living home if you move into one of the referred assisted living facilities or assisted living homes. The fee we receive from the assisted living facility or assisted living home into which you move typically ranges from 70 to 100 percent of your first month's rent and care charges. We do have a current business relationship but we do not have a common ownership or control in, or any other financial, business, management or familial relationship with, any of the assisted living homes and assisted living facilities to which we are referring you.
By providing us with a written or electronic notice, you have the right to terminate our services to you at any time, including our use of your personal information. If you terminate our services, we will not be entitled to any fee for any move-in you make after the date of the termination notice unless either:
1. The assisted living facility or assisted living home you choose within the next twelve months is one that we specifically identify and refer to you after we evaluate your profile and requests but before we receive your notice of termination.
2. You communicate with us before you move into the assisted living facility or assisted living home.
To end our services at any time, reply to any email from us or call Integrity Senior Placement at 480.271.7759.
